Mr. Neufelder was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, Affinity Health System, on March 31, 2006.  He was most recently the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Indiana.  Neufelder has dedicated his career since 1979 to the health care industry.  Prior to joining Affinity, he served for 12 years as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Ind.  While at Memorial, Neufelder was instrumental in the significant growth of the hospital and its system.  He distinguished himself and Memorial for outstanding patient service, exceptional clinical outcomes and excellent financial performance.  Prior to joining Memorial, he served the Community Health Network of Indianapolis for 10 years, with the last four of these years as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Community Hospital East.  Prior to Community, he held positions with St. Vincent Hospital and Healthcare System in Indianapolis, and was a health care management consultant with Ernst & Young.

Throughout his career, Mr. Neufelder has volunteered with numerous community-based organizations with special emphasis on serving the sick and poor.  He has held leadership positions with organizations that serve people with cancer, multiple sclerosis and mental health issues.  Additionally, Neufelder has been active in professional organizations and has served in leadership capacities with the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Mr. Neufelder is the recipient of the 1997 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Award for Northern Indiana.  He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Indiana Association of Certified Public Accountants.  He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Indiana in 1979 and his master's degree in business administration from the University of Indianapolis in 1989. Neufelder and his wife Jane have one daughter and live in Neenah, Wis.  They are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton.
