Al Stubblefield is president and CEO, Baptist Health Care Corporation, a five hospital system, in Pensacola, Florida. In his current position since 1999, Mr. Stubblefield has been with the system since 1985. Before coming
to Baptist Hospital, he worked in hospitals in Mississippi and Tennessee. Mr. Stubblefield currently serves on the American Hospital Association Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Regional Policy Board 4. He also serves on the Board of VHA Southeast and the National Committee for Quality in Health Care .

Since becoming president and CEO of Baptist Health Care in 1999, northwest Florida's largest health system has received numerous accolades. In 2002, Baptist Hospital, Inc, became the only health care organization in America to become a finalist for the Baldrige National Quality Award for three consecutive years. USA Today and the Rochester Institute of Technology presented Baptist Health Care with its Year 2000 Quality Cup for excellent service to the community. In 2001 and 2002 Baptist Health Care was named one of the 100 Best Places to Work in America by Fortune Magazine.

Mr. Stubblefield is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on the board of Florida Hospital Association. He received a master of science degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his bachelor's degree from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi.
