Mr. Steve Worley joined the staff of Children's Hospital in 1980 as assistant administrator. Children's Hospital is a 206-bed pediatric academic medical center located in New Orleans with referrals from throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South. Mr. Worley was promoted to chief operating officer in 1982 and became president and CEO in 1986. Prior to joining Children's Hospital he was director of management engineering with American Health Services, Inc., in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Worley received his master of science in business administration and his undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He is a past chairman of the Board of the Blood Center for Southeast Louisiana, past chairman of the Louisiana Hospital Association, past chairman of the Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans, past Chairman of the Board of the Child Health Corporation of America, and is a member of the Children's Hospitals International Executive Forum. He is a past board member of the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Boy Scouts of America, Inroads/New Orleans, and the National Association of Children’s Hospital and Related Institutions, Inc.

Steve and his wife, Patty, have two children, Laura and Cliff. When time permits, they enjoy visiting the coast at Orange Beach, Alabama. Steve also is an avid skeet and trap shooter who shoots competitively during the season.
